SMU RB Velton Gardner To Enter Transfer Portal As A Grad Transfer

SMU Running Back Velton Gardner announced on X today that he will be entering the transfer portal as a graduate transfer.

Over the course of two seasons with the Mustangs, he recorded a total of 505 rushing yards and scored 2 touchdowns on the ground. In addition to his ground game, he also totaled 29 receiving yards.

Prior to joining the Mustangs, Gardner spent the first three years of his college career at Kansas after signing with the Jayhawks as a three-star prospect out of Skyline High School in Dallas, Texas.

According to the SMU Athletics website, Gardner is 5-foot-9 and 189 lbs.
