TENNESSEE STATE PUNCHES TICKET TO THE BIG DANCE
The Tennessee State men’s basketball team put an end to a 32-year drought on Saturday night. The Tigers captured their first OVC Tournament Championship since 1994. They did it in dominating fashion, defeating Morehead State 93-67, which is the largest margin of victory and most points scored in an OVC Tournament Championship game. TSU was exceptional from the three-point line, going 16-26 beyond-the-arc in the win. The Tigers are on a six-game winning streak as they head into the NCAA Tournament. First-year head coach Nolan Smith has guided them to 23 wins so far this season, which is the most in the program’s Division 1 era. They will find out who and where they will play in the big dance during the Selection Sunday Show on March 15th.
