Coach Shawn Poppie Aims to Elevate The Standard For Clemson WBB

This past season, Shawn Poppie led Clemson women's basketball to its first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2019, but he's not satisfied. During a press conference yesterday, he shared that the program aims to build on the momentum and raise the standard. "The biggest thing is you can't get complacent, right? You have to continue to push forward because we're nowhere near what Clemson women's basketball, we feel like, can be." Coach Poppie has reason for optimism, as the Tigers landed the highest-ranked high school recruiting class in program history for the 2026 cycle. According to ESPN, Clemson has the No. 13 overall recruiting class in the nation for the Class of 2026. Poppie is entering his third year as the head coach of Clemson women’s basketball.
